Heather Buck and Vale Rideout Sing on Grammy Winning Recording

The recording of Milwaukee's Florentine Opera Company's production of Elmer Gantry won two of the three Grammys it was nominated for Sunday, according to the Grammy website. Vale Rideout sings the role of Frank Shallard, and Heather Buck sings Lulu Baines.

Among the winners announced online before Sunday night's Grammys telecast, Robert Aldridge won for best contemporary classical composition for the opera, while the Naxos Records release featuring the performance by the Florentine won for best engineered album (classical). The recording also was among those for which Blanton Alspaugh was nominated for classical producer of the year; that Grammy went to Judith Sherman.
